April 2025 http:// www. canadacreekranch. com be proud of.
The Great Ice Storm of 2025 has tested the patience and endurance of our entire CCR community. The stories of both our collective hardship and perseverance go on and on. But as we begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel, I think we can all agree:
The community we call Canada Creek Ranch has never been stronger. And that is something to
I want to start by thanking Brian Rogers and his staff for handling crisis after crisis with calmness and care, even as their own homes were without power and water.
I want to thank our many volunteers for their time and effort, especially the many volunteers who checked on individual members as well as their homes and cabins to help keep our community safe.
I want to thank our extraordinary coordinators Dave and Sherry Weber who helped cut open access to our roads, as well as Jim Geister for leading a group of volunteers to create access to Little Joe.
Finally, I want to thank our contractors who have been diligently working very long hours to help Canada Creek Ranch return closer and closer to normal after this catastrophic storm.
Side Note: If anyone has either a drone or drone footage that shows the devastation our club has endured, please share it with Brian or a BOD member. It would be helpful to show members and visitors the extend of the damage, even after clean-up efforts have been completed.
April CCR Board Meeting
First, we approved our new member readings that were already in process.
Second, we discussed and approved a budget of up to $ 150,000 to fund our CCR storm damage and clean-up efforts. The good news is that we may not have to spend all of it. Generous donations are already pouring in to both the Canada Creek Ranch office and the CCR Foundation, Inc., to help fund our clean-up efforts. The more our members are able to contribute, the more the impact on our budget will be reduced.
President’ s Message
Third, the Board approved a plan to look at a salvage harvest of the destroyed trees. If trees were left standing, it would lead to bark beetle infestations, dangerous oak wilt and other tree diseases. The Board is also looking at plans for the reforestation of our CCR property.
Important Reminder: Please take all your debris to the green box brush area. DO NOT move brush or downed timber to any other location and DO NOT trim or cut oak trees between now and the Fall. We do not want to see the spread of oak wilt across our beautiful Ranch. If you are unclear of what to do, call Brian or Alleigh.
