Historical Corner
Can you help identify this stick pin? The writing on the pin is“ W A CCR”. Assuming it stands for Women’ s Auxiliary CCR. Was it something the ladies wore to their meetings or? The Historical Committee is seeking any clues. If you have any information, we’ d appreciate you contacting Cy Opfermann cyrus. opfermann @ gmail. com or Jo-Carole Zechel jczechel @ gmail. com).

The museum construction is well underway. The Committee and interested members are moving toward potential displays and content. Some Ranch Committees and interested members are brainstorming subjects such as the glacial age, original people, forestry, wildlife, logging camp( homestead), archery, fire dept, jet crash, oil & gas and teen club just to name a few ideas. We have other areas we’ d like to include, but need manpower for the research, photos, artifacts and story lines. We cordially invite input from anyone who might be interested in contributing ideas for consideration of what they’ d like to see in the museum. We are also still looking for more historical artifacts( anything from the old ranch house, we do have a couple dining chairs, or any other interesting artifacts).
We are also busy with plans for the annual golf outing,“ Baggy Pants“ V” being held on Father’ s Day, June 15. The flyers are out! If you enjoy golfing, serious or for fun, plan to join us for golf, fun games, prizes and a tasty lunch at Thunder Bay Golf Club in Hillman. The Committee will again be selling raffle tickets for the Elk Carriage Ride and Gourmet Dinner. This year the prize if for“ 4” people; tickets are $ 20 each- take the family or another couple with you when you win. The flyers and tickets will be available in mid to late April.
If history is your niche, consider joining the Historical Committee or volunteering to do a research project. Contact any Committee member for more information.
