Question #1
A Director should act with the
fiduciary interest of all ranch
members and all ranch assets in mind.
The directors should also keep in
contact with the membership via, the
newsletter, email and committee
reports. The directors should also
make sure that the By-Laws are
updated and consistently enforced.
They should also communicate to the manager on priorities
that need to be taken care of.
At the direction of the Board of Directors, the Club Manager
should oversee all day to day activities of the club, including
but not limited to
• Communicating effectively with members, employees and
the board of directors
• Representing Canada Creek Ranch in the community
• Enforcing the By-Laws and the Rules of Conduct on a
consistent basis
• Hiring and overseeing all employees
• Keeping the Board informed on budgetary issues
• Seeing that all local, state and national ordinances are
followed (ex. taxes).
Along with enjoying all the amenities that Canada Creek
offers, the Canada Creek Ranch membership has the
responsibility to follow the “Association Rules of Conduct”
and pay any dues or assessments in a timely manner. They
should also take advantage of the opportunities to fill out
surveys and vote in all elections.

1) If you would elect me I would use
the Mission Statement that our
forefathers set forth for all Members
to follow. I would also use our by-
laws to help guide me by making
decisions that would be in the best
interest of the membership, and CCR,
as a whole. I would use this position
to inform my fellow members of
issues that the BOD is facing and to get your opinions on the
matters at hand, because I would be your voice as a director.
I feel that the BOD should work closely with our manager
on issues and goals that could effect our membership short
and long-term, for this is our club, as a director and a member
to be honest and keep our membership informed.
2) Over the years I’ve seen so many changes to CCR and I’ve
been ask by members about why I came to CCR, it’s simple:
our family fell in love with the Ranch and it changed our
family. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere that CCR
provided, it was not the hustle and bustle from down state
that we wanted to get away from. We were able to take
advantage of the hunting, fishing and view all the wild life
around CCR; and the willingness of members to give you a
hand.
Part of our question is what action the board could take to
make improvements with membership enjoyment. I feel this
is the hardest question for me to answer because we have so
many things to do such as spring fling, beach bash, 3-D
archery shoots, races, skeet shooting, gun and pistol range,
concerts, 5 lakes to fish and enjoy, bird hunting, deer hunting,
winter jamboree and snowshoeing and so many more thing
to do while we are here staying for a weekend, a couple
weeks vacation, or living at this great place we call Canada
Creek Ranch.
Question #2
I believe the board of directors needs to make sure that all
members regardless if they are full time residents, summer
residents, weekend visitors or once a year vacationers have
the same awesome experience. The facilities (including the
roads) should always be well maintained, not just before
and during holiday weekends. In order to see that this
happens, the board should be made aware of the weekly,
and monthly duties performed by each department to see
where resources could be used more efficiently.
3) In my opinion, when looking at Ranch operations and
funding, volunteerism is a big cost cutting program that we
should embrace at CCR. The Ranch community, as a whole,
has a lot of talented members that could and would volunteer
to save the Ranch money, especially with the revenue losses
that we are dealing with now. The things we should look at
next are our spending, where we are losing money, what we
can change for the better. After we look at those cost cutting
measures, staff could be looked at for additional savings.
And finally, as a last resort, go to our members for a dues
increase. When considering the Ranch’s funds, they always
need to be looked at closely to make sure we are making
good investment for CCR. It may be necessary to make a
change in investors, or accounting firms, so that a new set of
eyes can see where the Ranch could make changes that would
benefit us finically.
Question #3
As a current member of Canada Creek Ranch, I believe that
the current Board of Directors and the current members of
the Finance Committee are making decisions of Ranch
operations and funding plans with the fiduciary interest of
Canada Creek Ranch. If elected I will also look at what the
current issues are and make decisions on Ranch operations
and funding based on what is in the best interest of all current
and future Ranch members. In order to maintain a balanced
budget all options to balance the budget including dues
increase, spending cuts, review of operations and business
practices should be on the table. I would hope that we will
continue to have members volunteer at Canada Creek Ranch,
but I would never use volunteerism to balance the budget.
