2021 Geocaches
Ready to test your Geocaching skills ? We ’ ve hidden several new caches around the Ranch for you to find . New cache coordinates will be available at the Ranch house office . It ’ s a fun activity for everyone and a great way to
enjoy the outdoors . What are Geocaches ?
Geocaching is a fun sport and great outdoor activity . A box or ‘ cache ’ is hidden , and you use GPS coordinates to find the location . The 2021 CCR Geocaches are waterproof containers , filled with fun stuff . There will also be a pencil and log book , where you can write a message for other seekers or just record the fact that you found the cache !
How Do I Find It ?
In Geocaching , the primary clue is the GPS coordinates of the cache . Using a handheld GPS device , you navigate as close as possible to the cache ’ s location , and then search the area to discover the cache . A compass often comes in handy . You can pick up a flyer at the Ranch house with all the clues you need . Be sure to watch out for ‘ Muggles ’! These are people who may be in the area and are not geocaching – you don ’ t want to give away the location of
the cache . What Do I Do When I Find It ?
In a cache you will find a log book , pen and some fun items . Sign the log book with your name and the date and any comments you would like to leave . Take one item of your choice , and leave an item in the cache . This keeps the cache full and fun for the next person to find . Please return the cache to the same place you found it , and make sure it ’ s well-sealed and well-hidden ! Never move or bury a cache .
REMEMBER !
Be sure to inform the office of any e- mail address , mailing address or phone changes .
