January CCR Shooters Corner Library Corner Well here we are finally to 2020. As of this writing we’ve had several snows and some accumulation along with unseasonably warm weather to take it all away. Bow hunting has wrapped up and the Ranch Elk Hunt went extremely well considering a lack of abundance of animals on the property. Happy New Year! We wish you a happy and healthy 2020. Great news, between the opening of hunting season and Christmas the library received over 100 new and new to us books. We would like to thank everyone that donated. We can’t thank everyone, as many are dropped off without any names or member numbers, we did find a few names The Ziots, The Johnsons and Meyer family, The Ames, Web Wood, member 2213 and many more. We greatly appreciate your donations. They keep our library current and active. The Warning by James Patterson is a paperback novel about what happens in the small town of Mount Hope a year after an accident at the power plant caused the town to be evacuated. When some of the citizens are allowed to return it is just not the same. Military everywhere. Friends and family turning on one another. Something sinister is happening and our heroes have to find out what before it is too late. The Night Fire by Michael Connelly. When Harry Bosch’s mentor dies, his widow give Bosch something called a Murder Book. It’s a book about the unsolved killing of a troubled young man. Harry takes the murder book to Detective Renee Ballard and asks her to help him with this case. Why did his mentor take this file? Did he want this case solved or hidden? Even though most of us consider this the off season for shooting, it’s still a good time to keep practicing our marksmanship skills. You will probably have any of the archery and shooting ranges to yourself this time of year. Please be aware that there is now a disposal device in the 25-yard shooting building for any misfires you may have when a cartridge round doesn’t go off. You will find it installed in the countertop. Just drop it down into the pipe opening on top and we will see its disposed of properly. Any caliber should fit into it. A special thanks to Bill Hankes for the design, build, and installation of this feature for the safety of all Ranch members and their guests. In a final note please feel free to suggest any improvements to the ranges that would benefit the Ranch and its members. Send your suggestions thru the office attention of the Shooting Sports Committee. Shooting Sports Committee REMINDER: Safety First Always! ATTENTION SNOWMOBILERS Thank You Snowmobilers, please stay off cross-country ski trails marked with small blue triangles. Examples inlcude 2 Mile Loop around the campground, Wadsworth Bridge to Little Joe Lake and Log Jam, and Wadsworth Bridge to Montague Creek. Thank you to everyone at CCR who helped with the Community Christmas Baskets. All the gifts were wonderful! We truly appreciate those that came and helped us fill the boxes.
