Board of Director Candidates Bob Delecki Janet Edwards I would like to thank you for considering me to run for the BOD at Canada Creek Ranch. A little history my family has been members since 1998. We had visited CCR for a couple of years as guests before purchasing our first lot, we built our home in hopes of retiring at CCR someday, which has come true, My wife Julie and I have been married for 38 years. We have three sons and all 3 are members. Our family loves the outdoors and the activities that being a CCR member allows us to enjoy. Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling throughout CCR I would like to thank the nominating committee for the chance to run for the CCR Board of Directors. I have been coming to Canada Creek Ranch since 1958, when my father joined. I became a member in 1987 by buying a membership lot. In 2013 I bought a cabin. Since 2015, I have been a summer resident, spending six months at CCR. After teaching high school math for 36 years, I retired. The last 34 years of my career were with the Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) School District. In addition to being a math teacher I also served as Department Chair for 25 years. Some of the duties I performed as department chair included; interviewing, hiring and letting go math teachers, creating the master schedule (including room assignments) for 12-18 math teachers, ordering and distributing supplies, and creating and implementing In-service programs for teachers. I also assisted in scheduling students for the high stakes math testing and remediation, once the test results were back I created a data sheet so we as a department could prepare for the next year and the next round of testing. I was president of my Homeowners Association for 14 years. We had no staff so as president (an unpaid position according to Florida law), these are some of the tasks that I performed: property. I graduated from Hamady in 1974. From there I went on to Ferris State and Mott Community College. I was employed at Buick engineering, and retired in 2006. I have also worked in construction for over 40 years. Throughout the years I have served on several different kinds of groups, boards, and committees. My journey started when I became a youth football coach. It continued as president of our district youth program for 13 years. This commitment was fun, challenging, and required the ability to demonstrate organizational skills, financial responsibility, and people skills. In conjunction being president of the football program, I was elected vice-president of the Mid-Michigan Rural Football League. (I was a founding member of the MMRFL.) This league consisted of 14 area high schools, had over 1400 players, and over 3500 parents/coaches. Being a part of this team was no small task. We had to keep the league organized and financially responsible. I am proud to say that the MMRFL is going strong over 25 years later. Additionally I volunteered my abilities to help build a new press box, and team locker rooms. Julie and I also volunteered at the Montrose Blueberry Festival for several years. • I was in constant communication with the tenants and owners. • I created the yearly budget. • I ran the annual meeting. • I hired and fired laborers and contractors. • I worked with the lawyer to update the condo documents. • I worked with the city when we had code enforcement violations. I am a member of three lineage societies, The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), The Mayflower Society and New England Women and have been on the board of all three. I have spent most time on the board of the DAR where I held the following offices; Assistant Treasurer, Historian, Vice Regent and Regent (President). Some of the duties as Regent included, scheduling nine meetings per year, signing contracts with venues, arranging speakers for the meetings, creating a budget, communicating with the board and 80+ members all while following state and national guidelines. I believe that many of the experiences that I have had will be helpful while working with the manager, other board members and the general membership of Canada Creek Ranch. Since I have retired and am spending more time at CCR, I have participated in the Ladies Auxiliary, the Highway Clean Up and volunteered for Beach Bash. I was on the CCR Tribute Walkway Committee, and participated in the 2018 Strategic Planning Committee. I have worked for the ranch in the security department, since 2017. Throughout my years at CCR I have been involved in different activities and committees. Such as beach bashes and New Year’s Eve parties. I’m currently on the Property Owners Committee and have served on the Nominating Committee. I constructed the flag pole on the beach in honor of our veterans, and helped build the handicap accessible dock at the beach. I also volunteered at the Campground to build the play-scape and the addition on the pavilion. (This could not have happened without all the volunteers, so a big THANK YOU). I also guide & scout for elk hunt. CCR has a lot of talented members. I believe that with the skills and volunteerism that the membership brings, we can conserve the membership’s money. It would be my privilege to serve our membership on the BOD at CCR. It is with the utmost importance that we continue the responsibility of clear communication, listening to our membership and financial responsibility. All of this will ensure that CCR is a fun, safe, and financially sound. I would be honored to serve our CCR families with the MISSION STATEMENT THAT OUR FOREFATHERS HAD SET FORTH FOR CANADA CREEK RANCH. (810) 845-4885 18
