January CCR Shooters Corner Now that the Falling 6 Plate target is up and running again, we want to remind you that its usage is restricted to rimfire and pistol calibers only. This will extend the life cycle of the steel target so the members have an interactive shooting experience for years to come. Thank all of you that have observed this shooting discipline. Hot days of July will see the return of the Dual Spinning Plate steel target by the time you read this update. Again, please observe it is a rimfire and pistol caliber only target designed for longevity when utilized correctly. It also saves us from having to pull it out of service and repair it constantly. This allows us to spend more monies on additional shooting targets and venues for the members continued pleasure. It is our goal to bring more active feedback targets to the rifle and pistol ranges going forward. If you have any suggestions for improvements or other upgrades you would like to see on any of the ranges please contact us thru the CCR office ATTN: Shooting Sports Committee. Don’t forget to get out and practice at the archery range while the weather is warm to loosen up that twang string arm. Take a shotgun along to get in some scattergun practice at the trap and skeet ranges also. - Shooting Sports Committee REMINDER: Safety First Always!! Library Corner July, summer is here and we have some great reads for you. First we have The Hero by Lee Child. This is Childs first nonfiction. This short read gets to the heart of what it takes to be a hero, how we perceive them and what makes us human. The Vanishing by Jayne Ann Krentz takes place in a small town named Fogg Lake. After an explosion the entire town slept for two days. The town folk didn’t want to become lab experiments so they shut themselves off from the world. Two young girls stumbled on to a murder in the caves years later and they are now being hunted by the perpetrator to silence them once and for all. Lisa Gardner is the author of When You See Me. Female remains are discovered in a field in northern Georgia. FBI agent Kimberley Quince, Sargent D.D. Warren and survivor Flora Dane join together to unearth the truth about Flora’s kidnapper. When more bodies start stacking up they get help from a very unlikely source, a young girl that can’t speak. Can they discover the truth before one of them becomes the next victim? Thanks to the members for their donations. I’m using two of them, one this month and next. Thanks to all the members for their support and patience during the Covid crisis. Please remember to use the hand sanitizer before and after handling the books. Enjoy your summer reading. 10 New Members New Member s- The Greenbury Family Greenbury Family - We live in Grand Blanc Michigan and we have two beautiful daughters, Isabella & Victoria.
