It is with the most gratitude that I would like to extend a thank you to the nominating committee for this opportunity to give back to the Ranch and its members by running for the Board of Directors . I was introduced to Canada Creek Ranch by my brother-in-law and in February of 1978 my wife Susan and I along with my children Keith and Amanda became members . My son became a member when he turned 21 . Over these past 43 years it continues to be exciting whenever we can all get together at the Ranch that holds a lot of great memories . What made this place very appealing to my family was the year-round sporting activities . It also offered the security that was especially important to me . We started out with a small trailer in the campground and enjoyed every minute of time spent there and that continues today . A few years ago , I joined the Campground Committee which gave me the opportunity to meet even more great people . What I most appreciate above all is a tight knit group of members that are always there to lend a hand when needed . To give you a little background about myself and family . I graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1965 . I enlisted in the Army Security Agency from 1965 to 1969 . While in the Army , I joined the VFW and eventually became a Life Member . While in the Military I received my electronics training , which allowed me to get a job at Burroughs Corporation in September of 1969 , now Unisys Corp ., doing computer repair . During my 42-year career I held several positions in Field Service supporting Mainframe Computers , traveling to customer sites to troubleshoot issues and to audit their operation . I also attended Corporate Management classes then afterwards being given various management assignments . These included the sale of Maintenance Contracts , Over the Counter Depot , Help Desk and finally as Project Manager overseeing PC installations at Comerica , Ford and Toyota in the U . S ., Canada and Mexico . What I value the most about the Ranch is the history that comes with it . Looking at older pictures in the dining room and seeing members post their memories takes me back to a simpler time . Entering the old Ranch House was a reminder of what it must have been like early on . In my opinion we all realize time moves forward , with , it is important for current and future members and their families to hold on to part of the heritage the Ranch offers . If elected to the Board of Directors , my goal is to use my years of management experience to ensure the best interest of the membership and the club is paramount . Any decision that affects a large group such as ours must be communicated and be transparent . It is necessary I do my due diligence when making decisions with long affects for our future . We are all aware what it takes to work within a budget either in our own lives or running a business . In closing , I very much would appreciate your support by electing me as one of your Board representatives to address the future needs of the membership and Ranch .

I would like to thank the Nomination Committee for considering me for a position on the Board of Directors .
I started coming to CCR in 1954 with my parents . My Dad was an avid hunter , and I had the pleasure of spending 33 Consecutive Opening Day ’ s for Rife Deer Season with him . My wife , Joyce , and I became members in 1972 and have enjoyed the Ranch with our three daughters and their families . While at the Ranch we utilize all the amenities that CCR has to offer and love to watch all the wildlife in the Outback . My family and myself also enjoy the Rifle and Archery Ranges , hunting and hiking . We also love to spend time in the dining room with our CCR Family and
Friends .
I have served on the BOD from 1999-2004 . I served 3 years as a director , 2 years as Vice President and 1year as President . During that time on the BOD ( 1999-2004 ), I assisted with projects on the Ranch such as the moving of the Rifle Range and constructing the new one plus building the bath house in the campground . While on the BOD we also won the tax case with Montmorency Township that put close to a million dollars into our Endowment Fund . In 2017 , I was appointed to the BOD to serve the balance of a board members term who had resigned . I was then elected to serve on the BOD ’ s again in 2018 . Since then , I have assisted with the Member Insight Survey , Developing the latest Strategic Plan and supporting the development of our latest Reserve Study .
Some of the many things I have done through the years are serving on the Nomination Committee , Interview Committee , Homeowners Committee and have been a guide for Elk Hunts for many years
I owned and operated a home improvement company for over 30 years and had employment of over 20 employees . After closing my company , I became a full time Realtor at Re / Max Platinum in Fenton .
My background as self-employed business owner adds to my ability to understand the operations of CCR . I can work well with others in problem solving and everyday issues .
My family now has five generations of Lifsey ’ s enjoying CCR . My goal is to have them enjoy CCR for many years to come .
I would appreciate your support in this year ’ s election so I can continue my support to the membership and our beloved Canada Creek Ranch .
Sincerely , Alton ( AL ) B . Lifsey
