New members, Diane and Daniel Butler. Hello Canada Creek! Dan and I (Diane) have a long history with the Ranch. My parents, Bob and Maureen McFarland were part of an archery club not far from Canada Creek Ranch back in the 50’s and 60’s. They would take their 7 children to CCR to look for deer and elk. In the 1960’s they became members and built a cabin on Dowsett trail. Over the years, we spent a great deal of time on the ranch and created our most treasured memories. Those great memories and good times continue today with all our children and grandchildren. After retirement, our parents made CCR their home, but when our father passed away 10 years ago, our mother moved down-state and their home became our cabin once again. Our dear mother went to be with her Bobby on October 8, 2018 and she left the cabin to her remaining children. Dan and I were members of CCR for about 20 years throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. We have recently become members again and look forward to spending even more time at CCR. We live in Elk Rapids, only 2 hours away, where we created a beautiful life, raised our children and built our home in the woods. Dan has recently retired from his tile setting business yet remains as a volunteer on our fire department as Deputy Chief. I am a retired Registered Nurse and am involved in various volunteer activities. We have a family of 15 including 3 grown children, their spouses and 7 grandchildren. We love spending time at Canada Creek Ranch as we all have a passion for nature, with many fisher- men and women, bow and rifle hunters, kayakers, boaters, hikers, bicyclists, campers and explorers in the family. And of course, we all love looking for elk and “deer herding turding” as we affectionately call looking for deer. See you on the Ranch! Dan and Diane 15
