Nina Brinker has some big news about the Ranch House Grille
Q: The Ranch House Grille re-opened on April 25th. How did the first weekend go?
Nina: We had a great opening with lots of new faces stopping by. The fish fry was really busy on Friday night, there was a big member party on Saturday, and the buffet on Sunday morning had a wonderful turnout.
Q: I understand there are new hours.
Nina: Yes. We’ re trying to simplify things. The Ranch House Grille is open Thursday thru Monday.
• On Thursday, we’ re open from 4-8 p. m. for dinner.
• On Friday and Saturday, we’ re open from 8 a. m. until 8 p. m.
• On Sunday, we’ re open for our buffet / brunch from 8 a. m. to noon.
• Because there are so few area restaurants open on Mondays, the Ranch House Grille will be open 4-8 p. m. for dinner.
Q: That means it’ s closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Nina: That’ s right. We were serving fewer members on those nights and we’ re trying to control costs. Having new, more predictable hours Thursday thru Monday will reduce staff hours, reduce overtime and save money.
Q: I understand members can now get their meals delivered.
Nina: Yes. When you order your dinner after 3 p. m., Dale or Sue will deliver it right to your home or cabin. Delivery is free, although we hope our members will tip generously for this wonderful service. And you can even avoid the 3 % credit card charge by simply adding your tab to your monthly bill.
Q: Are many people taking advantage of home delivery so far?
Nina: Yes, it’ s been very popular.
Q: Does our restaurant look any different than it used to?
Nina: Yes. Our buffet items will be served from chafing dishes instead of the old food warming carts. At dinnertime, we’ ve lowered the room lights a little, added some twinkling lights and a candle on each table.
Q: Did that cost a lot?
Nina: Almost nothing. But you’ ll see the feeling is cozy and comfortable at dinnertime.
Q: Let’ s talk about affordability. People worry about how much restaurants cost these days.
Nina: I think we all do. Same goes when we go grocery shopping. That’ s why we’ re costing out every item on the menu ingredient by ingredient to offer good value. There will be lower cost items to choose from plus daily specials. There’ s a kid’ s menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And for the first time, we’ re even offering low-carb, gluten free and vegetarian options. We want everyone to feel at home at the Ranch House Grille.
Q: Thanks, Nina.
Nina: You’ re welcome. 17
