Forestry Tour of the Proposed 2019-20 Harvest Area A tour of the proposed 2019/20 forest treatment area will be held Saturday, May 18. All interested members should meet at Ranch House at 2:00 pm. REFER TO MAP FOR LOCATION. The oak stands are well-stocked red oak saw-log and pole timber with maple poles and pockets of aspen. Established regeneration is mostly maple. Objective for harvest is to promote growth in residual oak by thinning. The pin oak stands are over-mature pin oak with some aspen and maple. Harvest objective for these stands is to regenerate pin oak and other associated species. The red pine stands are well-stocked red pine saw-log and pole timber. Most of the proposed area is plantation red pine with some areas of natural pine. Established regeneration is mostly maple with some oak on the edges. Objective for harvest in these stands is to promote growth in residual red pine by thinning. Some of these stands were thinned in 1999. The mature aspen originated from a clear cut harvest in 1964. Harvest objectives for this stand is to regenerate aspen and promote oak regeneration where appropriate. RANCH FIRE PIT POLICY Fire pits must have the following characteristics to be safe: 1. No combustible material within 25’ of the fire ring. 2. Must be surrounded by a non-combustible material (i.e. Concrete, rocks, fire ring, etc. 3. No burning of yard brush, leaves, lawn cuttings, trash, building materials or chemicals. 4. Must have water source available. 5. Fires can not be left unattended. 6. Flames are not to exceed 24” in height. 7. Members and guests assume all liability for any damages that their fire may cause. 9
