DEATH NOTICES Jean Leithauser Longtime member, Jean Leithauser, passed away on April 20 th in Linden. Jean died at home while her husband, Jim, held her hand and surrounded by loving family members. She was 92. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Jim, and her five daughters: Anne (Bill) Midgley, Marie Leithauser, Libby (Chuck) Cetlinski, Adele (Rob) Temerowski, and Jeanne (Scott) Perian. Grandchildren include James (Lauren), Katie (Kyle), Tim, Sara (Trevor), Grace, Clare, David and Jack, and one great grandson, Will. The family held a private burial at St. Augustine in Howell. Jean was a 2 nd generation member and became a member, along with her husband, in 1965. Four of her daughters are members, continuing the Leithauser family tradition. Jean and her family spent many happy days together at CCR enjoying the outdoors and building life-long friendships. Jim and Jean treasured their up-north cabin at CCR for over 55 years together. One of Jean’s favorite past-times was hunting for precious rocks. Picking blueberries with her husband and children lead to fragrant mornings of blueberry pancakes and Jean’s famous blueberry pies. She enjoyed many beautiful, sunny afternoons on the beach with her friends while watching her children play in Lake Geneva. Coffee and crosswords in the morning and playing cards in the evening at the cabin was a daily ritual. If you walked along the shore of Lake Geneva, you likely heard laughter coming from the Leithauser cabin up the hill. Her loving character, sparkling personality, and generous heart will be missed. Jim plans to be at the cabin this summer. Condolences can be mailed to him there. Keep a song in your heart, a twinkle in your eye, and a deck of cards nearby for one more hand! Jerome E.
