Monthly CCR Incident Occurrence / Event Log
Book Nook & News
By Rhonda E. Wetherington
Lots to catch up on this month! In March, the CCR Book Club met and discussed All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker. Most enjoyed this read, with the general consensus that characters were well-developed and the writing lovely, even though sometimes confusing in the back and forth. With central issues of parental neglect, class division, survival, and resilience, the book was a good read to the end.
April’ s book club was cancelled due to the ice storm effects. The book for the month was James by Percival Everett, and is written from Jim’ s perspective, a character from Mark Twain’ s Huckleberry Finn.
We will discuss this book in addition to the“ Reader’ s Choice” selections on Tuesday, May 13. Join us in the board room at 7 pm or zoom in.

Danielle Steele’ s brand-new romantic release in April, A Mind of Her Own, will be available for check out. A historical novel occurring after WW1, a half Frenchhalf American woman endures unimaginable loss through a period which included the Spanish flu and damaged people from the war. Her resilience and courage see her through a series of events and relationships.
