This is a wonderful time of year! And the Thanksgiving holiday in particular affords the opportunity to reflect upon and be truly grateful for all the blessings in our lives. For CCR members, not the least of our many blessings is the freedom and opportunity we enjoy to participate in the wide variety of activities, amenities, and services afforded to us by virtue of our membership. Of course, the Ranch property itself and the physical structures and amenities within its borders offer so much to each of us. And beyond those obvious benefits, our Club is a gathering place where family, friends, and fellow members can congregate and experience the joy of sharing time well spent. All of this is possible only to the extent the Association continues to be blessed with a strong and vibrant membership. Our membership strength and vibrancy is evident in a number of measures; but none more important than the core of member-volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to making CCR the success it continues to be. There are two mutually beneficial results of these volunteers’ efforts that contribute significantly to CCR’s long success. First, and perhaps most obviously, the Ranch could never afford to offer all that it does – nor come close to offering everything we do with the quality our members enjoy – if we could not benefit from thousands of volunteer hours each year. Wendy Seghi & Oze McCallum 1427 Churchill Way NE Marietta, GA 30062 Interviewer: Raymond Karbon Secondly, the act of volunteering creates and builds a sense of belonging and community. That sense of “we” created through volunteering is the practical embodiment of our Mission Statement’s intent of promoting “among its members an enduring fellowship working to preserve its properties and friendly spirit for future generations”. Monte & Kelly Johnson 2335 Shepards View Dr. Cedar Springs, MI 49319 Interviewer: Carol Drouin While these two results of volunteer activity clearly benefit the Association, they also benefit each of us individually. Volunteering makes it possible for each of us to continue enjoying everything the Ranch has to offer. It allows us to maintain an affordable cost structure and at the same time strengthens the bonds of common purpose that keep us together. Julia Ferguson & Jonathon Bauer 5395 Coulter Lane Oxford, OH 45056 Interviewer: Raymond Karbon Henry & Donna Bobek 8108 Orchardview Drive Washington Twp., MI 48095 Interviewer: John Lengemann If you’re already an active volunteer, thank you! Keep that selfless spirit focused on strengthening the Association. If you’re a newer member, or haven’t been actively involved on behalf of the Ranch for a while, consider volunteering. There are countless opportunities to serve your fellow members and strengthen CCR for future generations. Consider a committee assignment or help out at one of our many social events. Donald Burney 831 Cardwell Garden City, MI 48135 Interviewer: Raymond Karbon Enjoy this Thanksgiving and our freedom to do so! Respectfully and most gratefully, Ray Karbon November Second Readings Beverly Bezrutch Logan Miller Joseph & Rebecca Lussier 8
