Manager ’ s Message
Hello Members !
October is gone and November is here . Deer Season , Thanksgiving , Elk Hunt and other things are just around the corner . In this month ’ s message I have a few reminders and updates for things going on around the club .
The Conservation Committee has approved not issuing any antlerless firearm tags for the 2021 FIREARM seasons . At the October 30 meeting , the attending archery hunters provided input on how many deer they have been seeing since opening day . After a review of the current numbers harvested and seen by hunters , the committee reconfirmed that FIREARM antlerless tags will not be issued this year . All 16 and under MEMBER hunters can acquire an antlerless firearm tag from the office without having to go through the drawing .
Snowmobilers , please get your current stickers for the 2021-2022 season now . The stickers are FREE for each member snowmobile . You will be asked to show your registration for proof of ownership prior to receiving a MEMBER sticker . Guest stickers may be obtained on a weekly basis for $ 15.00 . Please plan ahead for member stickers as the administrative office is open during the week and weekends right now whereas when we get to December , the office will be closed on the weekends . Just a friendly reminder that snowmobiling in the hunting area is not permitted during Rifle Deer Season ( November 15 – November 31 ) or the Elk Hunt Season ( December 11 – December 19 ).
Please remember that all boats , paddleboats , canoes , kayaks , etc . are to be removed from CCR shoreline prior to November 15 . This removal includes the boat racks located at Tibbits ’ Landing . If CCR must remove your boat without asking for this member service , you will be charged a $ 100 fee per item .
The Thanksgiving Dinner is buffet style this year . You will see the flyer located within this month ’ s newsletter . Please remember that my door is always open for your suggestions and comments to make CCR better than ever .
Take care CCR Family !
A Special Thank You
My heartfelt thanks to all CCR who helped search for my husband Terry on Friday , October 8 , 2021 . He went out for a walk at 8:45am and was not found until 1:00pm .
CCR Hunter Observation Packet & TB Testing Dropbox
Alleigh Pagels , CCR ’ s Consulting Wildlife Biologist , has prepared a CCR Hunter Observation Packet . This packet has been emailed out to the membership , is available online under Deer Hunting Info in the Documents section , and is available at the office in paper form . She has also created an online link for you to report your sightings . It is located at www . ccra . club / observation . Please utilize this packet or link to report all of your sightings as it will help Alleigh , and CCR better determine the status of our Deer and Predator populations .
Also , the DNR has placed a Deer Head Dropbox near the Fire Brigade Building . You may submit your head in this location rather than going to a DNR Field Office . This will be utilized to investigate your deer for diseases such as TB .
