A. DECEASED ELK FOUND NEAR RYE FIELD 4 – On Sunday, September 28, 2025, a member found a deceased elk near Rye Field # 4. Immediately a Conservation Officer was notified and put into contact with the reporting member. The Conservation Officer removed the elk from the property to do a full necropsy on the animal. The Conservation Officer reported back that the bull elk died from fighting with another bull.
B. WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST RESIGNATION – It is with mixed emotions that I share the news that our Wildlife Biologist, Alleigh Pagels, has decided to resign from her position at Canada Creek Ranch. Alleigh has accepted an opportunity with Omni Metal Craft as an Automotive Sales Engineer. While I, along with many others, are saddened to see her leave, we are excited for the new chapter she is beginning and deeply grateful
Board of Directors Meeting Unapproved October 18, 2025
4 for all she has done during her time here at the Ranch.
Since joining us in the summer of 2021, Alleigh has left a lasting mark on our Club. Her expertise, passion, and dedication have helped guide our natural resources program and shaped how we manage the woods, waters, and wildlife entrusted to our care. She has worked tirelessly alongside both our Ranch Team and our member volunteers, bringing science, stewardship, and collaboration together in a way that inspired many of us. Whether in the field, at meetings, or out with members, her willingness to teach, to listen, and to lead with heart will be remembered.
As Alleigh noted in her resignation letter, her time at Canada Creek Ranch has been more than a job, it has been a calling. She valued the moments of discovery, the friendships built, and the opportunity to make a difference. For those of us who worked with her closely, we can say with confidence that her knowledge, energy, and dedication will be hard to replace.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, our Team, and our entire membership, I want to thank Alleigh for her commitment and the many contributions she made to Canada Creek Ranch. I wish her nothing but success in her new endeavor.
Alleigh, thank you for your years of service and for the positive impact you’ ve had on this special place.
