Continued from page 18
As we look forward, the Board of Directors, Management,
and the whole Membership have a monumental task to try
and overcome. CCR has been on a decline with the number
members for well over 20 years. For example, in 2014 we had
a total of 1308 members which has since declined to 1285 at
2018 yearend. That is a decrease of 23 members. There are
things that the Board of Directors can attempt to do to
increase membership numbers, but ultimately it is up to you,
the members. You are the marketers. You are the membership
champions. You are the individuals that make CCR grow.
Without you encouraging your friends and family to become
members, there is very little that the Board of Directors or
anyone else can do. Take it upon yourself to bring in a new
member this year. One new member is all that I ask of you. I
challenge you to make it happen. Just think, if our 1285
members enticed one new family or friend to become a
member, your property values would go up; your dues could
potentially go down; and we could have a waiting list that
can push CCR into the next decade. Make it a goal; make it
YOUR GOAL. Cheer on your guests to become members.
Ask them why they are not becoming members, and please
don’t let them use the excuse of utilizing your membership.
Those guests that visit multiple times in a year must be
inspired to become the next members of CCR. I hope you
accept my challenge to grow the membership, because
ultimately it is up to you.
Now for our team, our CCR Team. We could never have a
fantastic club like CCR have without these great folks. These
individuals have the passion and heart for CCR to be great. I
would like to personally give thanks to: the office team of
Hailie, Julie, Magen, Pat, Tristen, and Yvonne; the dining room
team of Becky, Jade, Kayla, Leann, Linda, and Michele; the
kitchen team of Catherine, Fred, Hunter, Michelle, Nick,
Phylicia, and Steve; the beach concessions team of Lily; the
housekeeping team of David, Dezyrae, Tiffany and Trace;
the security team of Barb, Cyrus, Dale, Janet, Kathy and Vicki;
the maintenance and grooming team of Gil, Jim, John, Lanny,
Lila, and Matt; the skeet and trap team of Burt; and last but
not least our fire brigade team members of Adam, Bill, Bryant,
Cassie, Dave, Don, Gary, Gary, Jim, John, John, Lanny, Matt,
Ralph, and Robert.
This CCR Team is truly an awesome bunch of people. These
individuals ultimately are attempting to always provide “+1
Service” to the Membership. At times, they are requested
and pushed beyond their limits, yet they always come
through with high levels of enthusiasm. We ask them to
work on your holidays, away from their families, and it truly
takes dedicated people to do that. This group of individuals
never cease to amaze me, and I for one, am always proud of
them. So, please thank your CCR team the next time you see
them. They are truly remarkable!
Next, I would like to thank all the volunteers of CCR.
Without these individuals’ countless hours of time
commitment, CCR would not be what it is today. These
members serve many different roles in helping the club. Be it
volunteering for highway pickup, installing fire extinguishers
in the campground, planting our fields and food plots, running
the gift shop, sitting on a committee or any of the other ways
they assist, we are truly grateful. I thank you for your
commitments.
Finally, I would like to thank the Board of Directors for your
trust in me. Your choice to bring me aboard as CCR’s new
GM/COO will never be forgotten. Your selection has helped
me accomplish another goal in life. I look forward to working
with you at either the Board capacity or any other endeavor
you choose to take on at CCR. On behalf of the membership,
we will not forget all the hard work you have put into
keeping this club great. Thank you for the opportunity to
serve both you and the members. It is truly an honor.
At this time, I would like to ask Ray Karbon to come up to the
front of the room.
Ray, I would like to present you this plaque on behalf of
CCR’s membership in appreciation for you serving as the
2019 Canada Creek Ranch Board of Directors’ President.
