Montmorency County Conservation District , the spraying will be in pinpointed areas , because $ 500,000 will not cover all the private land in Montmorency County . The Conservation District is starting to conduct egg mass surveys this fall and will be supplying those statistics to the county . The Montmorency County Board of Commissioners will then decide whose private property gets treated and whose does not . While CCR may benefit from some of these county funds ( if the proposal passes ) it is not guaranteed .
As this may be repetitive , I want to remind everyone that CCR requires badges for small game and deer hunting . Please obtain this badge from the office prior to heading out to hunt . The annual deer hunting badge price for members is $ 10.00 . The annual fishing / small game badge is $ 10.00 . If you choose to obtain your fishing / small game , deer and shooting sports badges at the same time , the cost is $ 25.00 . Please be respectful and courteous hunters when placing your blinds . Safety is and should be everyone ’ s number one priority . Look for other blinds in your area and be sure to scout it well in advance for both your safety and your fellow members . As a reminder , the current rule requires all artificial materials and blinds to be removed from the property no later than March 1 , 2021 .
Snowmobilers , please get your current stickers for the 2020-2021 season now . The costs are $ 10.00 per member snowmobile . You will be asked to show your registration for proof of ownership prior to receiving a MEMBER sticker . Guest stickers may be obtained on a weekly basis for $ 15.00 . Please plan ahead for member stickers as the administrative office is open during the week and weekends whereas when we get to December
, the office will be closed on the weekends . Just a friendly reminder that snowmobiling in the hunting area is not permitted during Rifle Deer Season ( November 15 – November 31 ) or the Elk Hunt Season ( December 12 – December 20 ). As you finish closing-up your summer getaway , please remember that all boats , paddleboats , canoes , kayaks , etc . are to be removed from CCR shoreline prior to November

15 . This removal includes the boat racks located at Tibbits ’ Landing . If CCR must remove your watercraft , you will be charged a $ 25.00 service fee per item .
The Board of Directors , after receiving the recommendation from the Conservation Committee , has approved not issuing any antlerless firearm tags for the 2020 season . Because the Conservation Committee may adjust this number by 10 deer based on additional data obtained at the October 31 meeting , we are still creating an antlerless permit drawing list . Please call , email , or stop into the administrative office to get on the list . Remember that only Members are eligible to receive antlerless firearm tags . All archery hunters are still allowed to take antlerless deer on a state-issued license , with a maximum of two antlerless deer harvested on CCR . All 16 and under MEMBER hunters can acquire an antlerless firearm tag from the office without having to go through the drawing .
Finally , with COVID-19 restrictions , you will see our Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet look very different this year . For any of you that have joined us in the past , you know that we have always put out an amazing spread for our membership and their families . With the limitation of buffets , half of the dining room seating being available , and with a limited number of team members being available to accommodate everyone , we have moved to a takeout-style of dinner . You will see the flyer located within this month ’ s newsletter . While this may not be perfect , we are attempting to make sure you and your family are enjoying your time together during the holiday . Please make sure you place your orders the week before Thanksgiving .
In closing , I hope everyone enjoys the fall season here at CCR . This is my favorite time of the year , and I know many of CCR ’ s members feel the same way . Please remember that my door is always open for your suggestions and comments to make CCR better than ever .
Take care CCR Family !

Labor Day 3D Archery Shoot
On September 6 , 2020 , the weather for the day was perfect to test the skills of 27 archers at the CCR archery range . We had 8 youth and 19 adults shooting at our many different 3-D animal targets . Their equipment ranged from compounds , recurves , and longbows . Everyone had a great time .
After the shoot , the archers were awarded with door prizes . The 50 / 50 prize of $ 43 was won by Jylyna Bower . Jeff Miller won a Thermacell Mosquito repellent unit and refill kit for a raffle prize which was donated by Jim and Kathie Powell . The archery committee thanks them for their donation .
Thanks to all the people who helped to set up and take down the 3-D targets on the course . Have a safe and successful hunting season and shoot straight , see you all next year on the archery range .
