September CCR Shooters Corner
Credit & Debit Card Fees
By the time you read this the last summer holiday of the year will
be behind us and most of the kids are headed back to school. Now
it’s time to turn our attention to the upcoming hunting seasons.
Recently, the fun shoot at the range was a hit for all who
participated. A special thanks to Roger Ray for securing the DNR
Hunter Safety self-contained realistic first-person shooter
simulation trailer. Another special thanks to Bob Herrmann for
his assistance in running it.
Please let the Ranch know if you would like future events like
this to occur. Thanks to Mike Krupnek for heading it up and
planning it out with Yvonne from the office. Also, Lanny Cotner
and Cameron Geralds for their help.
Now for a reminder about the use of the ranges. The following
should be understood by all members with guests using the ranges.
***Range Badges are Required for All Shooters***
This is a reminder that everyone shooting at the rifle, shotgun
and archery ranges must display a Sports Access badge. This
includes members and guests, adults and minors. Adults must
sign the sports access Release and Indemnification agreement.
Minors 18 and under must have a parent or legal guardian sign
the Agreement. Upon signing, members will receive an updated
membership card showing “SPORTS ACCESS.” Non-members
will receive a Range Access card showing “SPORTS ACCESS.”
All range users must display their Sports Access card when using
the ranges. The office will be happy to provide you with a clip to
attach the card to your clothing. At the rifle range you may display
your card on the shooting bench you are using. Your card must be
visible while using the range.
You must present your card to a CCR Range Safety Officer (RSO)
upon request so they can verify you have the Sports Access
authorization. RSOs are fully authorized by CCR to enforce all
range rules, including range access rules. Unauthorized shooters
will be asked to leave the range immediately.
Members and guests who fail to display a Sports Access badge
while using the ranges will receive immediate suspension of all
range privileges. The offending member will need to see the Board
of Directors to get range privileges restored.
Members may not transfer a badge to a guest for range access.
Members and guests may sign up for Sports Access at the Ranch
House during normal business hours. First-time Sports Access
badges require a photo, so new range users must schedule this
visit to the office prior to going to the range. Check the office
hours and schedule accordingly.
Members may digitally sign the Release and Indemnification
agreement in advance to save time at the front desk. CCR web site
member access is required. Log into the site and go to Member
Items > Documents / Media > Shooting Sports and Watercraft
Release.

REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST ALWAYS
Members,
Did you know that you can charge meals, rooms,
campground sites and any other CCR items to your
membership account? The office sends out statements
at the end of each month. You have until the 15 th of the
next month to pay these charges without having to pay
a 1.5% monthly fee.
You may be asking why we bring this to your attention.
CCR is currently trying to inform the membership of
alternative ways to pay for their usage other than credit
or debit cards. As of July 31, CCR has accrued upward of
$13,800 in credit and/or debit card service fees. On
average, 2.55% of your credit card swipe goes to the
plastic card companies. If you are able, please consider
paying by cash, check or take the opportunity to charge
your account. We would then appreciate if you could
pay your end-of-month statement in full by cash or
check. Additionally, you may setup automatic
payments, utilizing ACH transfer services, via the
website to pay for your balance.
If you have any additional questions, please contact the
office for additional details.
