Continued from page 11 September CCR Shooters Corner Just a couple more weeks of practice shooting and then it is for keeps. No more shooting at wily dark bull-eyes that do not move around while you are trying to hit them. No more chasing the straight flying orange discs that are predictable in flight. Pretty soon it is going to be the real thing. Wild birds that will not cooperate with the sight on the end of your gun and game animals that just do not want to stand still or come in close enough to get a clean shot off at them. HUNTING IS BACK IN SEASON!!!! Let’s get out there and make all the off-season practice shooting worth it! No more excuses now. We would like to take this time to thank the maintenance department and our Ranch Manager Brian for seeing to it that the backstops at the 200 yard, 300 yard, and the short pistol range were changed out to plywood structures that we hope will hold up better under the heavier usage they’ve been getting. Good luck in the field to everyone. If you have any suggestions for improvements or other upgrades you would like to see on any of the ranges, please contact us thru the CCR office ATTN: Shooting Sports Committee. - Shooting Sports Committee REMINDER: Safety First Always!! 12
