• Each membership benefits having a Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist and a team member to take care of our fields for 20 cents a day.
• Each membership stocks our lakes with fish for 5 cents a day.
• Each membership helps keep our beloved Canada Creek in pristine condition for 2 cents a day.
Why can’ t you just find the money in one of these other funds? We already do. In 2022, $ 81,000 was allocated from our Endowment Fund to our Operating Fund. In 2023 this was $ 123,000 and in 2024 it was $ 108,000.
The Endowment Fund generates tremendous revenue for CCR members. Last year alone, the Endowment Fund generated $ 78 per member certificate. If this fund were spent, this income would be eliminated. As a result, we would be spending CCR’’ s entire financial safety net, causing potential financial issues in the future.
A lot of people want us to either pretend that things don’ t cost more or suggest that we can hide the costs by juggling funds saved for other purposes.
But the bottom line is simple: when CCR spends more money than it takes in, we are asking for trouble.
And because every CCR Board has a legal fiduciary responsibility, they are mandated by law to act in the best financial interests of CCR as a club. We will not“ cook the books.”
Why don’ t we eliminate the Wildlife Biologist position? Our deer population is a core benefit of all CCR members, not just hunters. Wildlife / deer viewing is the # 1 priority of CCR members. Conservation and the environment are also high priorities.
CCR Management, Board of Directors, and ultimately the membership were concerned by the lower deer herd numbers, tuberculosis, and other potential diseases. We needed to do better.
Our Wildlife Biologist is also tasked with duties unrelated to the deer herd: hunter safety, timber management, the elk hunt, lake / stream / river management, and surveying for invasive species.
Similar to how golf courses hire golf professionals, exercise gyms hire fitness professionals, and tennis clubs hire tennis professionals, CCR wants to have a professional running what we love most: our woods, waters, and wildlife.

Why don’ t we simply eliminate the position of Assistant General Manager( AGM)? First, the AGM will help us improve our food and beverage operations. We’ re looking at ways to lower costs while still serving our members great food. The current AGM has extensive experience in this area.
