The library will have its annual sale at the beach bash starting at 8 a. m.!! There are so many books to browse! Fill a bag for $ 1! Non-fiction food and biographies, fiction romances and mysteries, history books, and more are going to be under the pavilion.
The book club met on June 9 in the boardroom to discuss“ A Walk in the Park” by Kevin Fedarko. There were varying levels of who had finished the book, but we still had a very interesting conversation due to our guest speaker, CCR member Beverly Braye, and also our member Misty Kemp. Both had been on trails in the canyon and related their experiences. Beverly was also written up in the Tampa Tribune. She brought photos of her experience, and we related some of her issues with that of the author’ s. In all, members enjoyed the canyon descriptions and the author’ s perseverance, but felt it was a bit verbose. Also it was hard to care about the hikers in the beginning as they were very illprepared. We rated it a 3.5 out of 5.
Our next book is“ The Things We Cannot Say” by Kelly Rimmer. This story of a woman who marries her childhood sweetheart, only to have him disappear, is wrought with uncertainty and mistrust during Nazioccupied Poland. We will meet again on July 8 at 7 p. m. in the boardroom.
Also the library is purchasing two new books this month: Atmosphere: A Love Story by Taylor Jenkins Reid( author of“ The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”) tells us the story of an emotionally charged woman, who also happens to be a physics and astronomy professor, with the backdrop of the 1980’ s space shuttle. In addition, Stephen King’ s latest,“ Never Flinch” is coming to our library. This read has intertwining storylines- one about a killer on a diabolical revenge mission, and another about a vigilante targeting a feminist celebrity speaker. This thriller should put you on the edge of your seat.
Happy reading, everyone!

Slow Down for Safety: Reminder About Speed Limits As we head into the busy summer season, we want to remind all members and guests to please observe the posted speed limits throughout the property.
In particular, the speed limit is reduced to 10 mph in areas including the ranch house, beach area, and campground. These areas see increased foot traffic, especially with children and families walking, biking, and enjoying the amenities.
Slowing down not only keeps everyone safe but also helps preserve the peaceful atmosphere we all enjoy. It also helps to keep the dust to a minimum. Please be mindful, drive cautiously, and help us keep our community safe for all.
