First and foremost thank you for the privilege of serving as your board member for these past 2 + years. It has been a true honor to serve the membership of our little slice of heaven.

What a treasure we have at CCR to live and vacation! I was a vacationer since I was a kid, I have been a member for 26 years, and I am now a full-time resident since 2021. My great-grandparents were founding members and built the cabin on Brush Trail. I bought that cabin from my parents in 1999, and since have been bringing my children and grandchildren to our naturally beautiful community. I come from five generations of hunters, with several of my family current CCR members. My husband, Rick, and I have a total of four children, along with their spouses, and nine grandchildren. Although I lived in Michigan most of my life, I moved to Florida in 2009, moving back four years ago.
I think I can offer fair, unbiased thinking, experienced budget and decision-making, and strong organizational skills to the board, as a former manager, supervisor, instructor, and specialist. One of my passions is communication, and I would offer this experience to the membership as a board member, which includes listening to and integrating the voices of others.
I am educated as a nurse with additional clinical certifications from Cleveland Clinic, business certifications from both Emory University and Michigan State University, and certifications in Creativity and Leadership from the Disney Institute among many others.
My career trajectory started as a clinical nurse. I became a clinical specialist and then an ER manager. From there, I ultimately became a Chief Operating Officer at the American Cancer Society and retired from that position.
I have either served on, managed or lead many boards of directors over the past 40 years at the local, state, national and international level
I believe that, in my service on the Canada Creek Ranch Board of Directors, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to transparency, communication, efficiency and long-term planning. I also believe that the input of all our members is critical to the future of our wonderful club.
I hope that you will once again consider electing me for this second term as it is my desire to continue my efforts to help steer CCR into the future with member connection, engagement, sustainability and opportunities for future generations.
I have a keen sense to get to the heart of a matter and weigh value and alternatives. I am technically literate in social media, website usability, mass messaging, and virtual tools. In addition, my budget experience supervising multiple departments in a nonprofit setting is something I can contribute. My recent work revising CCR’ s by-laws made me very aware of the governance of our ranch.
My husband and I have invested in remodeling our home here extensively. I have also invested my time at CCR, serving on the Recreation Committee, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Nominating Committee. I have volunteered for projects, such as the by-laws revision and environmental efforts. I write a weekly Canada Creek Ranch column for the Montmorency Tribune, and I report weekly on CCR Facebook pages under“ Rhonda’ Report.” In 2022, I began the well-attended CCR Book Club, and I am also the librarian here. I attend most board meetings, via Zoom, and offer input. My husband and I enjoy winter euchre, and we organized the tournament last August. We also play summer outdoor cornhole. I enjoy snowmobiling, kayaking, fishing, campfires, and walking the trails with my golden retrievers, often visiting Tibbits Landing.
We retired from Kennedy Space Center five years ago. I was a training specialist for NASA employees, managing a six-figure budget, and Rick was a launch photographer. Before that, I was a writing and literature instructor for
