B. MUSEUM PROJECT UPDATE – This update is from June 10, 2025: I wanted to provide a quick update regarding the museum project. As you all know, we faced a significant delay due to the ice storm that hit at the beginning of April. Despite the setback, progress is being made once again. I’ m pleased to report that:
• Windows were placed.
• Another inspection was approved on June 4th, 2025, allowing the next steps to happen.
• Since June 4th, insulation has been placed on over 50 % of the interior.
• Drywall is hung on the ceiling of the museum.
• Insulation has been placed on the interior of the room.
At this time, I believe that the construction phase of the museum should be completed well ahead of the December 31, 2025, deadline. If you have any questions, please don’ t hesitate to contact Rick Krucker, the Property and Maintenance Manager, or me.
C. MANAGER’ S MESSAGE FOR JUNE 2025- Despite some less-than-perfect weather, Memorial Day Weekend at the Ranch was a great success! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces around the club, enjoying the club, reconnecting with other members and friends, and kicking off the summer season. Even with the cooler temps, the club was hoping.
Looking ahead, the forecast for the coming week looks fantastic, plenty of sunshine and perfect days to enjoy all that CCR has to offer. The landscape is greening up, and everything is really starting to come together. From the budding trees to the fields, it’ s shaping up to be another great year.
The Ranch House Grille was bustling with activity over the holiday weekend, proof that our members are hungry for both good food and good company! Usage was up five-percent over Memorial Day Weekend 2024, a great sign of appreciation for our team’ s hard work.
On the ice storm topic, our salvage treatments are progressing smoothly. We’ re still in the early stages at the South Entrance, with several more steps to complete. OnCite Services is scheduled to return in June or July to grind the remaining debris, followed by trenching in preparation for this fall’ s replanting of Red Pine, Jack Pine, and White Pine. It’ s a long process, but we’ re on track.
We’ re looking forward to seeing even more of you around CCR this month. To those celebrating recent graduates, congratulations! We hope all your graduation parties go off without a hitch and are a memorable event for your families.
D. SALVAGE TREATMENTS UNDERWAY IN HUNTING AREA- I want to inform you that salvage treatments in the hunting area have officially begun. This critical work is being conducted to address the significant tree damage caused by the devastating ice storm of 2025, which severely impacted large sections of our forest. The affected areas were left with extensive breakage, downed limbs, and hazardous fuel loads, which now pose increased risk for insect infestations and disease.
To mitigate these risks and promote long-term forest health, we have begun salvage cuts as recommended by our forester and wildlife biologist in the following areas:
• Red Pine stands near Rye Field # 4,
• Jack Pine stands near the north end of Homestead Road,
• Jack Pine and Red Pine stands on Homestead Road near gas site 41.
Members can expect to see heavy equipment and logging trucks operating in these zones throughout the summer months. They will be using Homestead Gate as their primary access to the property. Please use caution when traveling near or through these areas and stay clear of active work zones for your safety and the safety of our contractors.
We encourage all members to review the treatment location maps, which are available for viewing at the Ranch Office and on our website under Member Items- > Documents- > Forestry / Wildlife Info. These maps will help
