Continued from page 20 Teri Logghe Question #1: I feel that the greatest strengths we have is the members themselves and we need to utilize our members to the best of our ability. I feel that there are two areas that could be strengthened to improve the sustainability of the Ranch. First, we as a Ranch have members with many talents and we should use these talents to become more self-reliant. We need to seek out opinions from these individuals and encourage them to use their talents here on the Ranch. Secondly, the sense of family that CCR was founded upon has changed. The ability to return to that sense of family and community is vital for the sustainability of the Ranch. Question #2: The Board needs to address the issue of transparency of the Ranch in relation to the finances and amenities that the Ranch has to offer. I feel that the issue of transparency is vital to gain membership trust and understanding. It also allows for every member to plainly see the current state of the Ranch and the future predictions I would like the board of directors to address the issue of the forest health as our forestry plan is ending. I also believe that the health and well-being of the lakes and wildlife need to be constantly reassessed to allow the membership to be able to enjoy all aspects of the property. Question #3: As a Ranch, we need to look at what amenities we have, why we have them and what purpose they serve to the membership. We must take a hard look at the state of the Ranch and be able to balance the operational cost with the ability for our Ranch to remain affordable for the next generation. The easiest way to grow the Ranch membership is through children and family of current members. As a Ranch, if funding falls short the recent answer has been to increase the dues or add a special assessment. I do not think this is always the correct answer. I think we need to develop creative solutions to remain fiscally responsible without having to ask the membership to pay more on an annual basis. I always believe the first step to financial stability is through a solid assessment of current assets and operational costs. REMINDER! DO NOT DRIVE ON THE RYE FIELDS OR FOOD PLOTS.
