CCR News December 2019 | Page 13

Continued from page 12 beginning of January, please make sure to contact the Montmorency Township office. The office phone number is: (989) 742 – 3619. Quite often when members move to a new home, they forget to contact the Montmorency Township Treasurer to let he/she know their address change. Members should always change their mailing address with both CCR and the Montmorency Township Treasurer. CCR offers many easy avenues to change your personal information. You may contact us by phone, email or login to the website and change your information electronically. During the month of December, the Ranch House office will be closed on the weekends. Members and their guests needing snowmobile and vehicle stickers will need to contact the office during the weekdays. Snowmobile stickers are currently available for 2019-2020 riding season. If you get these stickers now, you will not have to worry about it later when you are able to find time to ride. Just a reminder to all members that all artificial deer blinds must be removed prior to March 1 st . All members should have ample opportunity to remove these. The hunting area will remain open for all of December’s hunting seasons. CCR’s trails will remain open and will not be closed for grooming purposes, unless the depth of snow would not allow vehicles to travel on them. After January 1, plan on having to get your blinds via snowmobile. Please do not depend on a “pass” on this rule. I ask you to plan accordingly to retrieve these blinds prior to March 1, 2020. Since I started my official GM position in September, it has been a fun ride. I would like to thank the membership, the Team Members, and Board of Directors for all your support. I would like to thank Nancy Thurston and Fred Calabro as they depart their directorship term. I welcome and look forward to working with Nick Schulz and Bob Delecki for the upcoming three years. Your CCR Board of Directors work very hard to keep CCR great and I appreciate all the hard work they put in throughout the years. As I finish this message, I offer one final though for CCR’s membership this month. During my travel into work the other day and while listening to Big D and Bubba on the radio, they received a phone call from an individual whose only purpose was to call and thank them for what they do. The hosts of the show were very appreciative and told the caller that she had made their day. Big D and Bubba stated that most of the communication they have with their listeners were purely complaints or disagreements. As we leave the season of giving thanks and are moving towards the season of giving and being humble, I ask all of you to say “Thank You” to our great Team Members here at CCR. While we do have many members that say thank you to our Team, we do have those that we only hear from when there is a complaint or issue. Even I find myself becoming complacent, and sometimes don’t take the time to tell those that I appreciate thank you. As I challenge myself to do this more, I ask you to please thank our great Team Members the next time you see them. You never know when that simple “Thank You” can change someone’s day! From the Rogers Family to you, we wish every member a Merry Christmas. I hope you all enjoy your time at CCR for the month of December. December CCR Shooters Corner As the November deer season winds down, we have to congratulate those successful hunters that connected with their archery and firearms up to now. With the muzzle loading season and archery season starting back up in December we wish everyone good luck for the later part of the year. Great thanks to those that volunteered to help CCR Ranch members at the rifle range on sight-in days. Those members that showed up to check their zeros on rifles and shotguns were very generous in donating money for range improvements. The Shooting Sports Committee would like to encourage the donation of all empty brass including expended rimfire cartridges also. There are receptacles provided to dispose of the empty brass within the shooting houses. These donated shells are then turned in for their scrap value and those monies are plowed right back into improvements on all the shooting ranges. We will accept any donation amount thru the Ranch office at any time to be directed to range improvement. We hope to make some additional improvements this coming year. The archery sub-committee is looking for volunteers to help them on their work bee tentatively scheduled for May 2nd., 2020. If you are interested in helping them to keep improving our 1st. Class archery ranges please contact the Ranch and ask them to forward your name, phone, and email address to the appropriate committee chairmen. The Shooting Range sub-committee is also planning a general work bee with several projects tentatively on May 16th., 2020. If you are interested in helping out improving any of the ranges please contact the Ranch House and ask them to forward your name, phone, and email address to the appropriate committee chairmen. Even if you can’t commit to a full day, a few hours volunteering would be appreciated. It a good time to bounce ideas off the other members in what improvements might benefit all members of the Ranch. Shooting Sport Committee **Remember Safety First Always** 13
