Improvements Using Committee Custodial Funds • Replaced parts and repaired the “falling plates” pistol target rack. • Purchased 9 durable rubber shooting rests. • Filled and deployed 16 full-size sandbag gun rests. • Filled and deployed 20 small sandbags. • Purchase 2 additional “brass wizards” for pickup of brass and broom clips for storage. • Placed 2 multi-gong stands and placed at 100 yards and 200 yards • Purchased gongs for new stands and maintenance replacements • Purchased 1 reactive spinning target for the 25-yard range • Added 4 sets of loaner youth/women hearing muffs • Added 4 sets of loaner adult hearing muffs • Replaced loaner shooting glasses where needed. • Placed bench brushes for each range house Rifle Range Improvements Using Ranch Funds • Safety signs limiting firearms types with close-range steel targets. • Chicken wire rolls for range maintenance • Chains and hardware to maintain gongs • Chains and hardware to hang wood target backstops • Staple gun staples. • Clothes pins. • Spray paint for gongs Rifle Range Improvements for 2020 • Install a new shooting platform to allow members to shoot prone, kneeling and standing positions—as in High Power Rifle shooting competitions. Committee funds approved up to $550. • Install target mounting lumber as need to support the larger High-Power Rifle shooting targets. Ranch shooting sports funding has been requested up to $250. • Host a Work Bee for range maintenance and improvements. Misc. supplies TBD. Pistol Subcommittee Ron Flore, Subcommittee Chairman The pistol range has proven to be a very popular addition to the CCR shooting range facilities. Special thanks to Chuck Thurston for spearheading development of this new shooting range and to Ron Flore for ongoing improvements and maintenance. The target hanging system is in steady need of repair due to high use. The committee is evaluating alternative target hanging systems. The committee is also evaluating additional range improvements for pistol shooters. The Pistol Subcommittee is looking for additional members with a high interest in pistol shooting sports. Pistol Range improvement using Committee Funds • Installed 2" rubber “pass-through” targets. • 1 “brass wizard” for pickup of brass and broom clips for storage. • 1 bench brush for cleaning of shooting surfaces • Labor: Installed replacement ballistic rubber backing blocks. • Labor: Replaced target mounting chicken wire and cables as needed. Pistol Range Improvements Using Ranch Funds • Rubber ballistic safety blocks for pistol range maintenance. • Chicken wire rolls and steel cable for range maintenance Rifle and Pistol Custodial Fund The Rifle and Pistol custodial fund is supported through member contributions and the sale of rifle and pistol brass donated by members.
