Museum Project Update
By Brian Rogers , GM Hello All ,
Here is another quick update regarding the museum project .
There has been little progress over the holidays . The roof is weathered in , and the shingles are about onethird the way complete .
Earl and I have communicated , and he will be working with Rick to remove the bookshelves from the wall .
As a reminder , the contractor has placed caution tape and barriers to keep everyone from entering the area . Please do not go around these barriers . The end parking location of the overnight rooms has been coned off to allow the contractor to park equipment . Please refrain from parking in this area .
If you have any questions , please don ’ t hesitate to contact Rick Krucker , the Property and Maintenance Manager , or me .
Historical Corner
“ Happy New Year ” from the CCR Historical Committee We are pleased to report CCR member , Robert Williams , in order to honor his dear wife ,
Diane ( Papke ) Williams , has donated a memorial of $ 50,500 toward the completion of the CCR Historical Museum through the CCR Foundation , Inc . The Committee and all CCR members are very touched by this generous gesture .
The loan from Directors Weber , Trim , Schulz and Chambers has been repaid from the current CCR Custodial Fund . The monies held by the Foundation from Mr . Williams will be transferred in the near future to the Custodial Fund and will be used strictly for the completion of the museum project , especially the interior requirements ( décor , displays , cabinets , cases , etc .).
The Committee would like to thank all of our CCR members and friends who have contributed toward the museum and encourage those who haven ’ t , to join us in filling the remaining leaves of the donor tree and taking your place among fellow members who believed in this project .
We ’ ve included photos of the current construction status . The Committee will meet on January 8 th , 2025 in the Board Room at 10 a . m .– we ’ ll have much to be thankful for and will continue planning the interior of the museum and other business of the Committee .
