Hunter Safety Education Class
There will be a hunter safety education class held at Canada Creek Ranch from Wednesday, July 30 th through Friday, August 1 st, 2025. The class will run from 9am to 4pm each of the three days.
The class is open to all ages but those younger than 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during all of the class sessions. Parents and adults are encouraged to attend as anyone born after January 1 st of 1960 who is a first time hunter must possess a hunter safety education certificate to hunt in Michigan.
Participants must attend all three days of class which will include hands on training in archery and shooting sports, a compass course, and a 50 question test. Lunch will be provided each day but if a student has any dietary restrictions it is asked that they bring their own sack lunch.
Upon successful completion of the course a hunter safety education certificate will be awarded.
To register you must sign up on the Department of Natural Resources Website. Once on the website go to the“ Education and Safety” tab, then to“ Recreational Safety and Hunter Education” tab, then to“ search for classes” tab, then to“ view upcoming events.” This event will be listed under Montmorency County at Canada Creek Ranch. The deadline for registration is July 28, 2025.
