Monthly CCR Incident Occurrence / Event Log
Historical Corner
Everyone is slowly returning to normal after the historical ice storm of March 2025. What a great community we have at CCR – helping hands from everywhere – members volunteered – clearing trails, roads and driveways; door to door checking on folks well-being( following up if needed); delivering meals; providing food and snacks for the linemen staying at the Ranch House – just to name a
few of the kindnesses.
Since it was“ historical”, we are interested in any stories or photos you’ d care to share with our Committee. Please e-mail any to: Perry Cooper at perryfcooper @ gmail. com
The museum construction has been delayed for the time being. Our funding is relatively stable, with a recent $ 4,000 grant from Awakon Fed. Credit Union which was obtained by the CCR Foundation, Inc. on behalf of our museum project. We are appreciative of all the support
the Foundation has given us. We are still planning a 2025 Golf Outing on Father’ s Day weekend. Join the fellowship – come out and play!
And, we’ re sponsoring our last Elk carriage ride / dinner raffle. This year, the ride and dinner are upgraded from 2 people to 4 people so you are able to take family or guests with you. Tickets($ 20 each) will be on sale at Ranch events or contact Earl Sowers( info below) or Rick Otto at
985-237-8091 or rickotto2013 @ gmail. com
We are now turning more of our attention toward content for the museum – our Curator, Perry Cooper will be back from Florida to redirect energies toward the content effort. Several groups have been working toward that end. If anyone is interested in donating time and effort into the displays, we can use / need your help and expertise. Any artifacts would be appreciated. Please contact Earl Sowers- 517-614-2066 e-mail: ccrdownrigger @ yahoo. com or Perry Cooper – 248-563-6122 e-mail: perryfcooper @ gmail. com
A reminder that the collection trailer is across from the Ranch House for plastic and aluminum beverage containers only …( P L E A S E … N O G L A S S!)
Thank you for your continued support for the museum project.
