2019 Archery
Committee Report
Library Corner
Thank you to the 325 members and guests that utilized the
archery range or participated in one of our three organized
shoots in 2019. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend
the shoots scheduled for 2020. Memorial Day 3D Shoot –
Sunday, May 24; 4th of July 3D Shoot – Sunday, July 5; Labor
Day 3D Shoot – Sunday, Sept. 6. All shoots have a 9 a.m.
shotgun start.
For October we have two books great books. The first
is Debbie Macomber ’s Window by the Bay. When
Jenna Boltz finds herself at loose ends with her youngest
going off the college, she wonders what to do with her
newfound independence. Her longtime girlfriend
Maureen suggests they start planning their trip to Paris
that they have put off for too long. When Jenna’s mom
breaks her hip plans change again. See what happens
to these two friends. Do they finally get to Paris?
Did you know that there is archery equipment available to
borrow? We have several youth bows as well as a few adult
compound and traditional bows that can be signed out for
use. If interested, please contact Sue Schymanski, Jeff Miller
or Bob Norton.
Outfox by Sandra Brown will keep you turning the
pages. FBI agent Drex Easton is tracking a serial killer,
who over the last thirty years has changed his identity
and lifestyle with each kill.
Also thank you to the hard working committee members:
Bob and Dianne Norton; Terry and Neva Sanborn; Larry and
Teresa Burcz; Dave and Sherry Kerridge; Matt and Laura
Reilly; Jim and Kathie Powell; Bernie and Corky Norton; Mike
and Carol Kerridge; Gary and Jo-Carole Zechel, Jeff and Paula
Miller, Sue Schymanski, and Bill and Judy Hasson. We
welcome Mike and Sue Krupnek and Dan Ferguson to the
committee.
We hope you enjoy these books. Thanks for your
donations. We featured one this month and will be
featuring one in November.

Well hunting season is finally here, and the ranges are quieting
down as we venture out into the field with real live targets in
mind. Thankfully archers had a good run at shooting practice
targets throughout the summer months courtesy of the
archery committee and their dedicated volunteers hosting
holiday shoots. The shotgun sports are done with organized
weekend practice and now it’s up to the individuals to put
that clay bird rehearsal into high gear for the upland game
and waterfowl out there.

The rifle range is awaiting the deer and varmint hunters to
fine tune their skills after months of dormancy in the gun
safes. This is the perfect time to check out the new steel gongs
downrange to confirm their target zero. Now all we need is
the wildlife to cooperate and show up in the field after
prepping for the hunt. Good luck to everyone this season.
