Manager’s Message and when we get to December, the office will be closed on the weekends. Just a friendly reminder that snowmobiling in the hunting area is not permitted during Rifle Deer Season (November 15 – November 31) or the Elk Hunt Season (December 14 – December 22). By Brian Rogers Hello Members! Well, it has been one month into this fantastic adventure and I’m very excited for the many days to come. My family and I are slowly moving into the Manager’s Residence. You should be seeing activity around there now; from kids laughing and giggling, to spider webs spanning the front porch, to vehicles coming and going from the driveway. My family and I are blessed and humbled by this entire experience, and I thank you again for all the support you have shown us. As you finish closing-up your summer getaway, please remember that all boats, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, etc. are to be removed from CCR shoreline prior to November 15. This removal includes the boat racks located at Tibbits’ Landing. If CCR must remove your vessel, you will be charged a $25.00 fee per item. I would like to welcome the 2020 – 2022 directors that were elected at this year’s Annual Meeting: Bill Cook, Bob Delecki, and Nick Schulz. I look forward to working with all of you throughout the next three years. For those candidates that were not elected, thank you for your dedication to CCR. Your candidacy for the club shows your commitment to this great place and I encourage you to put your name in again next year. CCR’s Firearm Antlerless Tag drawing will be on November 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM. The Board of Directors has approved issuing 100 tags in an attempt to harvest 20 antlerless deer on CCR property. Please call, email, or stop into the Ranch House office to get on the list. The list of successfully drawn members will be available via the website, the Canada Creek Connection, and the Facebook Members-Only Group. If you are drawn, please plan to acquire your tag prior to November 16 th at 8:00 PM. If your tag is not specifically requested to be held by the office, it will be reissued on November 17 th to the “next up” drawing recipient. Remember that only Members are eligible to receive Antlerless Tags. All 16 and under MEMBER hunters can acquire an Antlerless Tag without having to go through the drawing. With this year’s proxy, came the approval for the Board of Directors to apply for and obtain a Club License from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission. The application process has started, and we have set a goal to be operational on or before June 21, 2020. I want to make sure our membership is aware of the upcoming Forest Treatment Tour on October 5 th . Terry Manty, from Grossman Forestry, will be doing a hands-on explanation of the 2020-2021 forest treatment. I encourage you all to join and meet us at 1:00 PM at the Ranch House. If this message is received after the tour date, please review the information available on the CCR website. In closing, I hope to see you at October ’s events as our volunteer committee members and Team Members have planned some great family activities. Finally, please remember that my door is always open for your suggestions and comments to make CCR better than ever. See you all soon!
