Shooting sports are an integral part of CCR ’ s long history of hunting and recreational shooting . The Shooting Sports Committee appreciates the Board ’ s continued recognition of the importance of the shooting sports and strongly encourages the continued funding of these activities at the current budget levels for 2020 .
The shooting sports are heavily supported by volunteer members who : maintain and improve our shooting sports facilities , host shooting events , and raise funds to support committee activities . Special Thanks !
The committee would like to extend its special thanks to manager Brian Rogers for his commitment to the shooting sports . The ranges received steady use in 2020 . Here is a summary compiled by Gary Zechel using range sign-in logs .
There was a 12 % reduction in range sign-ins from 2019 . This drop may be due to a combination of increased range fees and reduced travel due to covid restrictions . CCR Shooting Ranges were used a minimum of 730 hours , 728 times by CCR members and guests between November 2019 and September 4 , 2020 . (“ Minimum because many shooters do not sign-in ).
Usage times range from 15 minutes to 4 hours . Usage Breakdown : ( Minimum )
9 yard hand gun range
183 hours
Used 186 times
25 / 50 yard range
292 hours
Used 276 times
100 / 200 yard range
211 hours
Used 217 times
300 yard range

The Committee encourages all shooters to be safe , follow all range rules and range safety officers instructions
and please sign into log sheet .
We have reports of members taking their guests to other ranges because of guest range fees . The committee believes
the guest fees are prohibitive for one-time visitors . An option for a less expensive one-week pass was strongly
recommended by the Shooting Sports Committee . This position is unchanged .
