Without approval of the Resource Fund Proxy, the Board of Directors will be forced to make difficult decisions that could significantly affect the Ranch’ s natural resources. Early projections for 2026 Resource Fund revenue show a steep decline, from $ 92,500 in 2025 to just $ 28,250 in 2026. With no forestry revenues expected next year, and with natural gas and interest income remaining modest account for this projection, our ability to fund vital programs will be limited. Early projections for Revenue in the Resource Fund for 2026 are as follows:
• Natural Gas Revenues: $ 3,250 compared to $ 3,000 in 2025.
• Carbon Credit Revenues: Zero compared to zero in 2025.
• Forestry Revenues: Zero compared to $ 45,000 in 2025. This is due to the salvage treatment happening this year. There will be no forestry treatment for the winter of 2025 / 2026.
• Interest Revenue: $ 25,000 compared to $ 27,000 in 2025.
• The Bylaws have no allowance for usage fees, or transfers from other funds.
• TOTAL REVENUES: $ 28,250 compared to $ 92,500 budgeted in 2025.
Fixed expenses such as fund management and taxes will consume nearly all projected revenue, leaving little for the work and items needed to make our land and wildlife at its finest. Things like fertilizer and seed, fish planting, invasive species mitigation, tree planting, creek maintenance, and forestry consultation are all up in the air. Without proper funding, much of the progress we’ ve made, such as habitat improvements for wildlife viewing and hunting, will suffer, and the long-term health and habitat of our Ranch’ s deer, turkeys, songbirds, elk and more will be at risk.
The Board will have to make major decisions on items to prioritize for CCR. Balancing the budget will not be easy. We have to reflect back on CCR’ s Mission Statement:“ The purpose of Canada Creek Ranch Association is to preserve our hunting and fishing heritage and to provide a quality outdoor environment for those other recreational activities which are unique to its woods, waters, and wildlife; and to promote among its members an enduring fellowship working to preserve its properties, and friendly spirit for future generations.” There is no doubt it will be difficult to maintain this Mission without proper funding.
