As we prepare to consider the upcoming Resource Fund Proposal, I want to take a moment to share some perspective with you. Canada Creek Ranch is a place where each member experiences the Ranch in a unique way, some find their joy on the water, others in the woods, and still others around a table at the Ranch House Grille with friends and family. Our membership is diverse, and so are the wants and needs that come with it.
The truth is, the world around us is ever-changing. Many of the things we enjoy today cost more than they did just a few years ago. This reality is not unique to CCR, it affects every one of us at home and here at the Ranch.
When we conducted our 2023 Membership Study, you, our members, spoke clearly. You told us that wildlife viewing, the Ranch House, the beach, and boating or kayaking are among the top Quality Drivers of your CCR experience. These are areas of high importance and high satisfaction. At the same time, you also told us that fishing, hunting, and lake swimming are areas that rank very high in importance, but lower in satisfaction. That means you see them as priorities for improvement.
This is why the Resource Fund Proposal is so critical. It provides the resources to improve and sustain the very amenities and services you have said matter most. Simply put, asking for improvements but cutting the funding to support them will not work. If we want to keep wildlife thriving, improve fishing and hunting, and preserve the lakes and amenities that define CCR, then the Resource Fund must be protected and strengthened, not diminished.
Manager’ s Message- September 2025
In years past, subsidization from gas wells and forestry helped carry much of this weight. Those days are gone. If we want to keep funding the items we cherish, it must now come as an investment from the members themselves. Some members have likened CCR to a form of government, but let’ s be absolutely clear, this is NOT a governmental entity. Canada Creek Ranch is part of the hospitality industry. We are a customer service industry. Most importantly, we are a memory-making industry. Our goal is to create experiences and preserve traditions that bring families together and keep CCR alive for generations to come. That takes resources, and yes, it sometimes takes dues increases. While those discussions are often controversial, they are necessary if we are to remain private, independent, and relevant to today’ s members.
We already face challenges from outside forces that make sustaining our Ranch difficult. The last thing we should do is create more challenges from within. Division and turmoil weaken us, while unity and collaboration strengthen us. This is YOUR club, YOUR community, and YOUR investment. When we work together, focusing on what unites us rather than what divides us, we ensure that Canada Creek Ranch not only survives, but thrives.
The Resource Fund Proposal is not just about finances, it is about preserving the heart of what makes CCR special. It’ s about our crown jewel. It is about protecting the wildlife you love to see, the waters you love to fish and swim, and the traditions that make this place feel like home. Together, we can make CCR stronger, not only for today’ s membership but for every generation that follows.
Together, we are CCR, let’ s move forward, united, toward a stronger future.
