CARBON CREDIT UPDATE – Here is a quick update on that item .
• CCR received our first payment in July 2023 for $ 450,000.00 .
• Following the Bylaws , CCR deposited that money into the “ Carbon Account ,” where this initial principal was to be kept .
• Any net income is required to stay within this account .
• The Carbon Account , including the principal , shall only be used for carbon credit related expenses .
• The Carbon Account may be distributed for Board-designated purposes upon the completion of all present and future obligations for all carbon credit projects .
• In December 2024 , the balance of the Carbon Account is $ 530,863.13 , thanks to the Investment Committee ’ s , the Board of Directors ’, and management ’ s decisions .
Currently , there are no pending payments from the carbon credit program . While I am hopeful for future payments this year , which can then be used towards the woods , waters , and wildlife of CCR , I ’ m cautious and conservative in saying it will happen .
The balance of this account is available in each month ’ s Board agenda packet . You will see this under the “ Month-end Fund Balance Report ” in the Resource Fund Column .
